for you a thousand times over.
There was something about The Kite Runner that left me feeling unsettled, above all else.
I felt my entire body go numb and my fingers begin to shake as I was reading the book. From chapter four I finished the book in one sitting, neglecting to turn on the lights when dark fell and getting bedsores from my lack of movement.
The book was heart-wrenching and made me want to vomit half the time. The story is depressing if anything and leaves you contemplating about things you can’t seem to put your finger on, but still thirsty for more. It is a tale of betrayal, friendship, love, greed, beauty, and disgust. It has everything you need in a novel but still gives you a feeling of discomfort and uneasiness.
Wendel said to me, “it’s the worst book I’ve ever read and I couldn’t put it down.”
